A uniform but apparently nonce set of 11 small octavo volumes variously specified: 1-5 ‘in 5 volumes’ 1823;6-8 ‘in 8 volumes’ 1825; 3 additional volumes dated 1824, 9 wrongly numbered as 8, 10 as 7, 11 correct. Foxed portrait frontispiece Volume 1. Another frontispiece Volume 6. Volume 5 lacks P2 and P3. In Volume 7 sig K repeats. Volume 9 lacks X2-8. Separately paginated extract from Edinburgh review of Hours of Idleness inserted in Volume 9. Half calf bindings sound but many labels missing or defective. Library accession number gilt-stamped at foot of all spines.
