Mimeo printed rectos only, trimmed quarto, side-stapled in stiff card covers. Colophon in author’s hand inside lower cover: ‘no. 30 plus 6 of 30 projected copies produced by Frederic Hunter and H.M. Government for Migrant Press November 1963.’ The poems were revised for the 1970 Fulcrum edition but the extent & order of the poems is the same; the Fulcrum roman text is photocopied from typescript, the italic from author’s holograph. Internally fine but upper cover has 4cm tear to fore-edge, is darkened at all edges & has one loose staple. Two letters from the author to Hunter laid in: one a brief als saying he doesn’t want his manuscript returned; the other an approx. 650-word tls, envelope postmarked 5 Dec 1963, thanking Hunter for the edition, talking at some length about the book & his aims as a writer and also asking Hunter to see whether he (Shayer) can help Tom Raworth in any way (against bailiffs etc).
