Self-Communion: A Poem

Ed. Thomas J. Wise

Published by Privately (The Ashley Library) London 1900

Edition 1st   Limitation 30

Format  Octavo   Condition Good

Frontispiece facsimile first page of manuscript; a second facsimile faces page 14. 2-page preface by Wise. Original cream boards soiled and gilt-lettered spine heavily darkened. Ex Cheltenham Reference Library with partly & carelessly removed label on front pastedown; the library’s mostly faint small circular blue stamp appears on many pages including top corner of frontispiece, foot of title page, preceding poem p.11 and the section title to the additional Lines. Neat ink note ‘April 17th 1848 A.B.’ added at end of title poem & Lines. Despite these faults the untrimmed pages remain remarkably clean.
